Tiger to launch Singapore-Dhaka flights

Tiger Airways will launch a new direct service between Singapore and Dhaka. Commencing 9 March 2012, the airline will operate the route visitors insurance four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) using its Airbus A320 aircraft.Flights will depart Singapore’s Changi airport at 2315 arriving in Dhaka at 0115 the following day. The return services will leave the Bangladeshi capital at 0215, arriving back into Singapore at 0815.

Travel agents increase GDS use in 2011

This represents a significant change since the study was last conducted in 2009, when 26% of travel agents said they used their GDS platform more often, flight insurance and 19% said they used the GDS Shopping Displays more frequently than in the past. The study also projected that annual GDS hotel bookings will surpass US$50 million in 2011, with an increase of more than one million bookings from 2010.
